🧠🍏 Today in History: April 1, 1976
Three bearded young dudes in a California garage start a company called… Apple. Yup. Apple, like the fruit. Because apparently “Uncle Steve’s Computer” didn’t sound professional enough.
👀 What did they want? To bring tech to regular people.
📱 What did they achieve? They got billions of humans staring at shiny rectangles all day, totally ignoring the world around them.
🥲 Mission accomplished, Steve.
💡 But wait…
Apple didn’t just invent the iPhone. They reinvented what it means to “be creative” in the 21st century. They created a visual culture, an app ecosystem, and a legion of fans with iPads, AirPods, MacBooks, and minimalistic wallpapers with quotes like:
“Think different.”
(Or “Think distracted,” depending on how much TikTok you’ve been using that day.)
🎨 Apple shaped entire careers in design, motion graphics, UI/UX, video production, digital music, photography, app development, and — of course — that friend who thinks they’re a filmmaker just because they got a new iPhone and a gimbal.
🚀 The apple didn’t fall far from the tree. It became the tree.
Oh, and by the way: we recently found out they didn’t actually start in a garage… (not that it changes the success of the company, it’s just less… “sexy”…)
📆 Today in History:
On April 1, 1976, Apple was founded.
🍎 And since then, creativity has never been “wireless.”
